Back On the East Coast and Peep Week

Hi everyone!  We enjoyed our time back home visiting family and friends, and of course it was Peep Week at the Beach with my Sistahs!
The first person we had to visit was our grandson Reed!

Reed will be 4 in June and we miss him so much.  He is wide open and one of the reasons we will be heading back to the east coast this fall.  This boy loves batman and swinging on his swing set.  We were going to take him to the park but no, he wanted to play at his own play ground and have a picnic.  If we didn't have to fly home we would still be pushing him on the swing!
The hardest part of full timing is missing this sweet boy.

We were staying at Sistah Karen's house while she and Stuart were in Mexico.  No trip home would be complete without seeing my Aunt Ruthie in VA.  I drove up on Sunday and had a great visit.  My Aunt Ruthie is my inspiration, nothing stops this wonderful woman and I hope to be half the great lady that she is.

Thank you Ruthie and Cliff for a nice time.  I even got Ruthie hooked on Slotomania!
I picked up Karen and Stuart at the airport on my way back home.

Azalea Festival was happening which is a big deal in Wilmington.  We got together with Lori and Greg Rooker and headed downtown.  It was kind of cool to be a tourist in your own town.  When we lived here we rarely went downtown.  Wilmington is really a pretty town right on the Cape Fear river.  We first went to Level 5 which is a bar that has a good view of the Cape Fear bridge and USS North Carolina battleship.

We had dinner at the Copper Penny and then did the river walk, it was a wonderful evening.  Thanks Lori and Greg for joining us!

Mark's brother Lynn and his wife Susan invited us to the GOT-EM-ON Live Bait Club cookout at Carolina Beach.  It was a nice day to be on the beach enjoying the sunshine, good food, friends and family.

Lynn doing what he does best...COOK.

Susan's strawberry cake raised $75 for a good cause.

Thank you both for including us, we had a super time.

We saw as many folks as we could but still didn't see everyone.  Many a wonderful meal was shared with friends and we thank you all.  We got our fix eating the things we can't get on the west coast.  Nothing is better than fresh seafood from the east coast.  Every time we go back I have to have some catfish.  My BFF Tammy,

her husband Jeffery can cook some catfish and he knows when I am in town that's what I want for dinner.  Thank you both for 2 wonderful meals and the use of your vehicle during our stay.

Peep Week at North Topsail Island was just what the doctor ordered.  Time with my Sistahs to rejuvenate my soul, nothing is better.  The weather this year was abit chilly but we did have some nice days to walk the beach.

Sistah Julie, Kari and Gini

While ran into a family that was staying in the house behind us and they were fishing on the beach.  All they were catching was Blow fish.

They are the cutest things.

Sistah Martha is a serious shell seeker and found lots of treasures.

As always creativity flows from this unique group of women that I am lucky to call me Sistahs!

Julie has a new grand baby arriving soon so she was busy.

Quilts and changing pads.

Sistah Kari and Karen pinning Kari's quilt top.

Beautiful painted papers by Kari.

Vintage jewelry created by Sistah Martha.

The list goes on and on, but of course we found time for wine and food!

Thank you Sistah Karen for bringing the Sky Lanterns.  It was amazing that night as the moon was hiding behind the clouds and as soon as we starting lighting the lanterns it came out and shinned down upon us.

                                                           The YSA Sistahood forever!

                        +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I just want to send out a big Thank You to Karen and Stuart for letting us call your house home!
